LEAP - Online Skills for Community Groups - Term 4, 2021

Short Course 1: Graphic Design for Community Groups (5 weeks): Bookings available in September 2021

Contact us to express your interest in one of both of these short courses and we will let you know when bookings open.

These two short courses will each run for 5 weeks and will be delivered by qualified Graphic Designer and Social Media manager, Kelsie White.

When: 2 hours per week during Term 4, 2021. Days and dates to be confirmed.

Where: A Pot of Courage Cafe, Barkly Square, 25-39 Barkly Street, Ballarat East.

Cost: $50 per 5-week course. Book and pay online or book online and pay cash in the first class to Ballarat East Neighbourhood House staff.

Digital Devices: BYO or the Ballarat East Neighbourhood House can lend you a laptop/tablet for the class.

Each class will require a minimum of 5 participants to proceed.

Short Course 2: Social Media for Community Groups

Days and dates to be confirmed, November-December 2021

This class will cover the following content, delivered by qualified Graphic Designer Kelsie White who has over 7 years experience in Social Media management.

  • What social media should you use?
  • Copywriting basics
  • How to get attention as a not for profit
  • Content pillars and schedules

Conditions of participation

  • If you are feeling unwell and/or have cold/flu symptoms or have been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case, please do not come to class.
  • Wear a face mask. Please check the Victorian Government's COVID-19 guidelines for face mask updates.
  • Please sanitise your hands upon entry to and exit. Hand sanitiser will be available.
  • Keep at least 1.5 metres from other people in the class.
  • Arrive 5-10 minutes before the class starts to allow time to complete any paperwork, which may include confirmation of your attendance for COVID-19 contact tracing purposes.
  • If you have any injuries or issues which may affect your ability to partipate fully in the class, please arrive early and discuss with Kelsie.
  • Turn off your phone/digital devices and store your possessions in the room.
  • A maximum of 10 participants will be permitted to participate in the class.
  • Tickets are not transferable.

Cancellation of classes

Ballarat East Neighbourhood House is not able to offer replacement classes if you are unable to attend a class. This is in order to keep the class costs low by minimising the administration time for staff and teachers.
