Watercolour with Kelsie Image 2

Learn the basics of watercolour painting with local Ballarat artist, Kelsie. Start with learning about paint, brushes and paper, then build your skills each week with a new painting theme and topic. This class has lots of flexibility and you are always welcome to bring something you would like to paint that we can work on together.

2.30 pm - 4.30 pm, Fridays in Term 1, 2022.

Large community table adjacent to A Pot of Courage Cafe, Barkly Square, 25-39 Barkly Street, Ballarat East.

Dates

Every Friday. Proposed start date, Friday 4 February 2022. Please note that, in the interest of providing a safe environment for our staff, volunteers, participants and the Barkly Square community in the current COVID-19 situation, we are currently considering when to start Watercolour with Kelsie in Term 1, 2022. We will be contacting registered participants to gather feedback about what best suits those involved.

Costs

1. Class - $15 per class to cover the cost of our wondeful teacher, Kelsie and shared supplies. Please bring $15 cash on the day or we will have facilities for online payments if needed.

2. Equipment and supplies - Additional cost: $0 shared, $65 for your own kit to keep, including watercolour click together discs, pack of brushes and a pad of watercolour paper.

Vaccination requirements

Please note that it is a requirement of entry to the Barkly Square building that all people aged 12 and over are double vaccinated against COVID-19 or have a valid medical exemption. The building is managed by BGT Jobs & Training on behalf of the Victorian Department of Education.

Location & getting there

Watercolour is held on the community table adjacent to A Pot of Courage Cafe, Barkly Square, 25-39 Barkly Street, Ballarat East. 

Walking: The entrance for the wonderful A Pot of Courage cafe is located inside of Barkly Square at 25-39 Barkly Street, Ballarat East. Follow the A Pot of Courage signs.
Driving: You can park on Barkly Street, or behind the building in the car park or on the street along Princes Street North. You can access Princes Street North from Eureka Street or Barkly Street.
Bus: There are bus stops close to Barkly Square.
Bicycle: There is bike parking at Barkly Square

Public toilets are available within Barkly Square.

Conditions of participation

  • Please read the Ballarat East Neighbourhood House Activity Terms and Conditions. You will be asked to agree to these upon registration for this class.
  • If you are feeling unwell and/or have cold/flu symptoms or have been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case, please do not come to class.
  • Wear a face mask if required to by restrictions. Check the Victorian Government's COVID-19 guidelines for face mask updates.
  • Check in using the Ballarat East Neighbourhood House QR code.
  • Please sanitise your hands upon entry to and exit. Hand sanitiser will be available.
  • Keep at least 1.5 metres from other people in the class.
  • Arrive 5-10 minutes before the class starts to allow time to complete payment and any paperwork, which may include confirmation of your attendance for COVID-19 contact tracing purposes.
  • Please bring along your own materials to draw with or you can purchase a Watercolour Kit to keep for $65.00. Shared resources will be available.
  • If you have any injuries or issues which may affect your ability to partipate fully in the class, please arrive early and discuss with Kelsie.
  • Turn off your phone/digital devices and store your possessions in the room.
  • A maximum of 10 participants will be permitted to participate in the class.
