Walk With Care: Optimising the Safety of Older Pedestrians. Through a grant from the Department of Transport and Planning, Road Safety Victoria, the Ballarat East Neighbourhood House is delivering free presentations about increasing safety for older pedestrians. Free Presentations:(1) 1.00 pm - 2.00 pm, Tuesday 16 April, Ballarat East Neighbourhood House, Barkly Square, Ballarat East. Be Connected Digital Skills

Are you aged 50+? Would you like some free, local digital skills training? The Ballarat East Neighbourhood House is proud to be a Network Partner of the Australian Government’s Be Connected Digital Literacy Program, which provides free local digital inclusion support. In Term 1 and 2, we have a series of free workshops and 1:1 digital skills support (9.30 am - 11.30 am, Wednesdays) at Barkly Square. Our next free workshop with Greg is: Online Shopping for Groceries from 10.00 am - 11.15 am on Wednesday 20 March at Barkly Square.

Free Support for Community Groups

The Community Governance Project funded by City of Ballarat is working to provide support to community groups in the City of Ballarat, delivered across the four Neighbourhood Houses in Ballarat through a four-year Strategic Partnership. Commencing June 2022, the project aims to build capacity for local groups through delivery of training on governance, grant writing, financial management, running effective meetings, managing volunteers and applying for incorporation. Register now for one or more of the seven FREE Workshops for Community Groups in Term 2, 2024: Workshop #4 - Introduction to Child Safe Community Groups, Workshop #5 - Marketing and Promotion for Community Groups, Workshop #6 - Volunteers: Inducting, Managing and Retaining and Workshop #7 - Managing Difficult Conversations.
